In 1964 Pillsbury introduced the Funny Face characters as ambassadors for a powdered, kids drink mix designed to compete with Kool-Aid. Until the brand was discontinued in the mid 90's, the ingredients, messaging and characters themselves went through quite a few transformations in order to keep up with an era of rapidly shifting cultural imagery and nutritional discovery. Funny Face grew to be quite a market leader and, looking back, we see a broad range of merchandise, swag promotions, toys and clubs that were created to enhance the “fun” of the Funny Face experience! This gallery contains images of the first line of Funny Face products and swag that, in todays market, can fetch a pretty penny among collectors.
And now, thanks to Decas Cranberry Products, these lovable characters have a new home in realm of nutritious snacks for kids. We hope you enjoy these little snippets from the past alongside our healthy snacks of today!
